Cole Berliner is a guitarist, composer/arranger, and music teacher hailing from San Francisco, CA, currently based in Los Angeles, CA.
For the past two decades, Cole has been honing his craft. As one half of avant-rock band Kamikaze Palm Tree, Cole’s band provided the opening act for tours with:
- Wilco
- King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard
- Ty Segall
- Unwound
- Wand
- Habibi
Cole is an experienced studio and live player, having performed as a band member with such artists as:
- Zendaya
- White Fence
- PAINT
- Laena Myers
- Rahill
- Coffin Prick
He recently contributed guitar and lap steel guitar on new albums from Deradoorian, Sagittaire, and Sedona.
In summer of 2025, Cole toured extensively promoting Sharpie Smile’s latest album “The Staircase,” released on Drag City records, while also touring as live musical director and guitarist for emerging artists Zsela, Laena Myers, and Sedona. Cole frequently performs live shows of original and improvised solo material, incorporating a range of textures from bare acoustic guitar to cassette tape loops, and granular effects.
Cole is fluent with recording, mixing and mastering techniques using modern DAWs such as

- Logic
- Ableton
In 2024, he provided the musical score for the Los Angeles Rich & Successful Film Festival 3‘s title sequence.
As a teacher, Cole has over ten years of experience with guitar instruction in both individual and group settings, including the community/nonprofit organizations Jail Guitar Doors, Three O’Clock Rock, and San Francisco Rock Project.
He graduated from Berklee College of Music majoring in Music Performance and Composition. Cole is currently working on his first solo album, anticipated for release in early 2026.
